$399 Touchbook with detachable display

2 March 2009 No Comment

To be shipped in May or June this year, AlwaysInnovating put their new two-pound touchbook at $399 dollars at the bleeding-edge DEMO conference in Palm Desert, California.

The device has an 8.9-inch, 1024 by 600-pixel display, and was running on a custom Linux based OS, but the company says that it can be modified to run Windows CE. Other goodies like WiFi and Bluetooth are part of the package, with 6 USB ports and a good battery life of 10-15 hours on the hardware side as claimed.
