The black, white, and bronze flavors of the T-Mobile G1 are available on Amazon for $97.99, a huge $302 off it’s actual price.

This, is if you will sign the two-year contract with Google; without it, the price is still $399.

Google Android powered G1 is not the prettiest of phones out there in the market, but it is definitely one of the hottest (Ben Patterson’s review here).

Despite it being a first generation product for Google’s Android operating system, G1 is pretty solid and functions very well. The Android market features many applications, both free and paid, and many of them are rated as well. G1 also sports and awesome QWERTY keyboard, and a very responsive and clear touchscreen display. Also, if you are the “developer” type, you can also purchase a developer’s version of the Android OS, which gets you more control over the operating system for modification. Lack of a suitable PDF viewer and Flash is a drawback though.

Speculations are on for the HTC Magic, which could be the next version of G1 (or rather, G2). It is not confirmed that HTC Magic is really going to be G2, but for now, if you are not so keen on the looks but for the functionality, $97 is a good bargain to go for.
