Web Slices - Personalize your browser

23 March 2009 No Comment

How many times do you check for updates from the internet for your email, stock quotes, ebay auction items, etc? And everytime you had to do this, you had to go to the website manually and check for updates.

Introducing Web Slices.

A web slice is an addon to your browser which will keep you updated without you having to check every now and then. You get this right at your Favorites Bar. If a web page provides a web slice, a green Web Slice icon appears on the upper right hand corner of your browser. You can just drag it to your Favorites Bar. The Web Slice becomes highlighted as and when new information is available, so that you are kept updated.

Here are some interesting thoughts on using Web Slices - use them for Wordpress blogs, or turn your RSS feed itself into a Web Slice. Or if you are the curious type, here is a gallery of Web Slices that you can use.
