15 Good Firefox Browser Addons for Writers

Are you a professional writer or a blogger - or do you do a lot of research on the Internet and want to save things to writes notes on or be able to refer back later? Today’s browsers have a lot of tools that can make work easier for you. Of course it will take a while to search, find and use them and get used to them, but it’s worth a look.
For now, we’ll look at some cool browser addons which Firefox can provide you.
1) Screengrab - Screengrab is an addon which lets you capture webpages, whole or part, as an image, either to a file or to the clipboard so that you can paste it somewhere. It can also get Java or Flash embedded in a page (provided you have Java installed and enabled on the browser).
2) UrlbarExt - This tool extends your locationbar’s capabilities. It lets you make shorter Urls, Copy URL, Search the site, Move up a directory of the current page, tag pages easily ,Navigate through sequential URL’s,View page cached version, etc. You can see more of the features here.
3) Link Gopher - Link Gopher helps you to search and extract all links from a page, sort and remove duplicates and open them in a new tab so that you can choose the required ones to be copied to other systems.
4) QuickNote - A simple note-taking pad, which can be easily pulled up from your browser. It’s easily accessible from the browser from a toolbar button, or by a shortcut. This has a very good autosave capability and also other functionalities like drag and drop. If you have used Microsoft One-Note before, you’ll find this very familiar. 7) OPML Support - Introduces OPML Import/Export functionality to Firefox Bookmarks manager. When exporting or importing, you can choose to export or import your livemarks, bookmarks, or both. You can also choose whether to import/export links in their folder hierarchy.
Fastestfox - Previously “Smarterfox”, this addon gives different options to browse the web faster. It also provides options for enhanced searching, download multiple files from the same page in parallel, etc.
9) Autocopy - Very handy for research, autocopy lets you copy text directly from webpages into the clipboard by just selecting it. This can be copied to a text box, URL, or even to notepad.
10) Email Yourself - Allows you to email yourself the link, title, and a selected summary of the webpage you are viewing using GMail. This is compatible with Firefox, Flock, and Songbird.
11) Zotero - Pronounced “zoh-TAIR-oh”, is a free, easy-to-use Firefox extension to help you collect, manage, and cite your research sources. This addon can also store PDFs, files, images, links, and whole web pages. There is also a flexible note-taking option combined with Autosave.
12) SeoQuake - SeoQuake is an SEO extension which can help web masters who deal with search engine optimization(SEO) and internet promotion of web sites. This also helps researchers and writers to obtain information on the fly, save them for future work, compare them with the results, obtained for other, competitive, projects.
13) Word Count Plus - This addon counts the number of words in a selected text, and can also check the count in a running total. You can also check the count in HTML elements, such as a textbox or a textarea. This is very helpful for writers who have to do articles and assignments.
14) PageZipper - If you are reading through an article which spans multiple pages - take for example, a Google Search results page, or a forum question - this tool would help you a lot. You will be able to see all the pages together without having to click Next. Also, if you are doing some serious research and use a tool like Scrapbook to highlight or annotate, you can get all of them in one single page, ready to print.
15) Toodledo - This is an add-on version of the online version of Toodledo. This helps you to add tasks to your to-do list from anywhere online. This is a great tool to keep track of all your writing assignments.
