Longer URLs? Binged.It

16 January 2010 No Comment

After Tinyurl made it a popular trend, lot of people had come into the business of shortening URLs. Many big players like Google, Youtube and even Facebook have their own version of URL shorteners. Now Microsoft is also at it with it’s new binged.it.

Well, the odd thing about binged.it as many have noticed is that it’s longer than Bing.com (lets be fair, it’s just one character longer). Currently all requests to binged.it gets redirected to Bing.com, but some Microsoft employees have already started using this service. This is not yet public, but surely hope they get around to doing it.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if we get to see a WinLi.veĀ  or a Yah.oo very soon.
